Senkan Yamato 2199: Hoshimeguru Hakobune anime ini akan berlatar
belakang di masa depan tepat nya pada tahun 2199 Masehi . Armada Yamato
mencoba meninggalkan sistem galaksi “Magellanic Cloud galaxy”, setelah
menerima sinyal “Sistem Reverse Cosmo” di tujuannya yaitu Iscandar .
Namun secara tiba-tiba mereka bertemu dengan kelompok misterius di ujung
galaxy Magellanic . Para awak mengetahui bahwa kelompok itu disebut
“Gatlantis” dan pemimpin mereka adalah seorang komandan pasukan
ekspedisi Gutaba yang menyebut dirinya “Goran Dagaamu of Thunder” .
Mereka menuntut agar kapal Yamato diserahkan kepadanya . Yamato yang
ingin bergegas ke Bumi berhasil lolos dari kekacauan yang terjadi .
Tetapi ketika Yamato hampir berhasil kabur, mereka di serang . Senjata
tersebut di namai “Flame Direct Attack Cannon” yang bisa melewati ruang
dan waktu .
